Registration and abstract submission are now open! The deadline for the submission of paper and poster abstracts is: October 31, 2019.
The First Author must preregister at the time of abstract submission in order for the paper/poster to be considered. The abstract form can be found here.
If an abstract is rejected by the program committee, the First Author can request a refund of the preregistration fee. That also applies to coauthors who have registered, unless they are First Author on any other accepted paper.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is October 31, 2019.
The PPA 2020 Annual Meeting Program Committee will notify the first (or sole) authors upon receipt of their abstracts, review each abstract before accepting it for the Scientific Program, and send a notification of the Committee’s decision by January 31, 2020.
Please send the abstract, as a Word document email attachment, to: email@example.com
Indicate in the file name of the attachment: your name, poster or paper, student or regular member (for example: Boas poster regular or Malinowski paper regular).
Please prepare your abstract in English, single-spaced, Times New Roman 12 pt font.
Although authors are free to publish their work in any venue, the topic of abstracts must fall within the aims and scope for the International Journal of Paleopathology, which may be viewed at https://www.journals.elsevier.com/international-journal-of-paleopathology
Please do not submit abstracts for material already put forward for one of the other meetings being held in Los Angeles in April. The program of the AAPA meeting will be checked, and any item accepted for both the AAPA and PPA program will be removed from the PPA program.
The Registration Fee for the North American meeting includes: sessions, coffee breaks, and the Association Business Dinner. (Note: you will be asked to select among chicken, fish, vegetarian, or vegan entree options, but if you have a specific food allergy, please contact the PPA Vice President at: firstname.lastname@example.org)

This is a great opportunity for student members to craft a synopsis of their research that is accessible to a general audience and practice presentation skills in a low stress setting. Registration Cancellation and Refund Policy
- The Paleopathology Association (PPA) hopes that everyone who registers for the North American meeting will be able to attend; however, we understand that extenuating circumstances do occur. The PPA Cancellation and Refund Policy for the North American meeting is as follows:
- Full Refund: All registration cancellations and refund requests submitted by the participant up to 4 weeks before the event (until 11:59 pm, March 16, 2020, PST) will be refunded 100% of the registration fee minus a $5.00 processing fee.
- Partial Refund: All registration cancellations and refund requests submitted by the participant between 2-4 weeks before the event will be refunded 50% of the registration fee (12:00 am March 17 to 11:59 pm March 30, 2020, PST).
- No Refund: No refunds will be granted if cancellation is made within 2 weeks of the event (after 12:00 am, March 31, 2020, PST).
How to Cancel Registration and Request a Refund
Cancellations and refund requests must be submitted by email to the PPA Treasurer at email@example.com. Refunds will be issued via check or PayPal within 2 weeks after the meeting has concluded.
